Abstract
Humans who are increasingly developing are now creating technology that makes life easier and distance is no longer a problem. Many positive impacts are shown from these developments, but on the other hand there are negative impacts from technological developments. One of the generations that are rapidly receptive to development are teenagers. One of the negative impacts of technological
developments is the increasingly widespread apathy. The design of the “Small Thing” comic strip is one of the uses of technological developments by introducing a story that inserts policy values in it using the Instagram application which is mostly used by teenagers in Indonesia. Using visuals that are friendly and can be enjoyed by teenagers. This comic strip with the title “Small Thing” presents the
slice of life genre, which is a genre that describes everyday life that is widely used for comic strips on the Instagram application. It is hoped that this comic design can provide policy value to teenagers. The design uses a qualitative method by conducting interviews with the target readers of the "Small Thing" comic strip, observing by looking at comic strip account users on Instagram, and literature studies from several journals and reference books. The result of this design is a digital illustration in the form of a comic with JPEG format and size 1080x1080
which has been successfully uploaded to the Instagram application. This comic consists of 20 titles with 8 panels in each title. In addition to comics, this design
also produces several supporting media such as totebags, notebooks, smartphone cases, mugs, and keychains.
