Abstract
Aladdin 2019 is a remake of the 1992 Aladdin. The 2019 Aladdin is a film produced by Walt Disney. The writer uses the 2019 Aladdin movie as the primary material. This study aims at exploring and analyzing the character of Princess Jasmine as a representative of the idea of Socialist Feminism. In this study, the writer uses a descriptive qualitative method since it only focuses on finding evidence from the points of socialist feminism represented by Princess Jasmine. The writer collects all data by observing the intrinsic elements of the characteristics of socialist feminism. The findings of this study show the actions of a woman who fights for welfare and gender equality which is oppressed by going through several points of socialist
feminism, (1) The Economic Issues, (2) The Social Issues, (3) Care for others, (4) Patriarchy/the paradigm of domination, (5) Family structure process, (6) The
gendered welfare system, and two elements of mise-en-scene. Lastly, the writer hopes this study can be used as learning material and as a reference for other feminist
works. Keywords: socialist feminism, gender equality, gender oppression, patriarchy
