Abstract

Thisreport will be exploring the details of an internship experience, shedding light on identified challenges during the internship tenure and providing possible solutions for a more optimal learning outcome. The first challenge encountered centers around the lack of a structured
difficulty progression in project assignments. Interns were given a complex assignment for their first task; consequently, interns do not have the basic knowledge of translating, hindering interns from a gradual acclimatization to complex tasks. Addressing this, the report recommends the implementation ofscaffolding approach, ensuring a systematic and supportive learning journey. The second issue lies at the absence of a lesson plan, leaving interns in the dark about anticipated learning objectives. The report suggests the integration of comprehensive syllabus, providing transparency, clear objectives, and a roadmap for daily learning experiences. With a comprehensive syllabus, interns will be able to know what to expect and adapt accordingly ahead of time. By providing solutions to these challenges, this report aims to contribute to the refinement of internship practices, emphasizing the importance of scaffolding and lesson planning.
