Abstract

The purpose of this study is to test whether there is an influence between profitability, liquidity, leverage, and dividend policy on firm value. The theory used in this research is agency theory. Agency theory describes the contractual relationship between the party who gives the trust, namely the shareholders as the principal and the party who is given the trust, namely the management (agent). According to this theory, as the manager of the company, the manager will know more about internal information than the shareholders, so the manager is obliged to provide information about the condition of a company. The results of this study support agency theory, which shows that profitability, leverage and dividend policy influence firm value. However, the results of this study indicate that the agency theory represented on the liquidity variables is not able to explain the results. The type of research used in this research is uantitative research. The population used in this study are manufacturing companies in the
consumer goods sector that have been listed on the IDX. The sample used in this study is manufacturing companies in the consumer goods sector listed on the IDX for the last 5 years, namely 2017-2021, with a total sample of 30 companies. In this study, the data was tested using
the Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS). The results of this study indicate that profitability has a significant positive effect on firm value. Liquidity has no significant effect on firm value. Leverage has a positive and significant effect on firm value. Dividend policy has
a positive and significant effect on firm value.
