Abstract
Interstellar is a movie about a space exploration of a NASA team to find a new planet for people on Earth since the Earth is already dying badly. The objectives of this study are to identify 1) the hidden theme of the movie using
intrinsic elements from the movie and 2) the two aspects that are proven to transcend through time and space from the hidden theme. In this research, the writer uses Objective Criticism method since the writer only focuses on the movie as the primary data. In order to create the analysis, the writer gathers data from the intrinsic elements of the movie such as plot, theme, characters and characterization,
and two elements from mise-en-scene. After the writer analyzed the intrinsic elements, the writer figured out the hidden theme and also found the two aspects that transcend through time and space in the movie. The hidden theme was proven to be an unbreakable bond between Cooper and Murphy. The two main protagonists of the movie even though they are separated by time and space, their strong connection enable them to reconnect with one another by using gravity as the
medium to communicate. Thus, the hidden theme also shows the two aspects that are proven to transcend time and space are love and gravity. Keywords: objective criticism, intrinsic elements, love, and gravity
