Abstract
in writing this non-thesis project, the writer focuses on cases of early marriage problems and also cases of lack of women’s empowerment. Reflecting on the circulation cases of divorce and domestic violence, to the extent that a lot of
social media content shows lots of adolescent girls who are married and have children at a very early age. This early marriage is a phenomenon where children are married below the age limit determined by the state. The case of early marriage is not something that should be defended, because it can reduce the quality of life and also empower women. Through cases of early marriage, many adolescent girls
are unable to continue their education and in the end, the women’s empowerment movement is increasingly hampered. Focusing on these problems, the writer decided to make a short story to build a sense of struggle and independence among young women. In the story, the writer emphasizes that marriage is not a solution for women to survive.Keywords: early marriage, women’s empowerment, short story, creative writing, and independence
