Abstract
This internship report discusses the factors of Second Language Acquisition of MI Wahid Hasyim 02 Dau students that affect their language acquirement. The first factor is how language exposure and environment affect students’ English skills. Students in MI Wahid Hasyim 02 Dau do not get exposed by English language as much, resulting in students having a hard time learning vocabulary since they are not familiar with the language. The report suggests providing more English materials for the students that are easy to access. With these materials, students can easily
get exposed to English more often. The second factor lies at the lack of support and motivation. People around the students do not give support for them to learn English thus lead to the lack of motivation. Addressing this, the report suggests for the teachers to make the English class as a safe space for students to learn English, creating deeper bond with the students, giving some praises, encouragement, and rewards. By providing solutions to these challenges, this report aims to refine the teaching approach for the students that have difficulty in acquiring second language.
