Abstract
Language is an essential aspect of human life, and English is the most widely spoken language worldwide. In Indonesia, English has been taught since early grade, but not
all schools provide adequate English lessons. Therefore, the writer has conducted a four-month internship at SD Katolik Yos Sudarso Kepanjen, Indonesia, from August 2, 2023, to December 9, 2023. This report provides a detailed description of the school, activities, and problems that the writer faced during the internship program. Problems
identified during the internship including lack of access to adequate materials, lack of multimedia, and lack of English language skills. Since the report focused on how to
improve third grade students’ English skills using fun learning strategies, the writer suggests solutions such as provide qualified textbooks and workbooks, provide
additional school computers and repair the existing computer, LCD projector, and speaker, also to make a lesson plan with interesting theme.Keywords: Internship, English skills, Teaching English to Young Learners (TEYL),
