Abstract

As part of the requirement for graduation from university, every student is expected to take an internship. I applied for an internship at Translation Transfer, located in Jember,East Java, as part of the Kampus Merdeka program. This internship lasts for approximately four months, from August to November 2023, in which students undergoing internship at Translation Transfer receive both theory
and practice in translation and localization, as well as given a chance to delve into the translation industry. For the first three months, students are taught and trained
about various aspects of translation, including practices in copywriting, content writing, marketing, making a video, as ell as practicing and finalising documents translation. For the last month, some students are trained to do the pre-penetration stage which aims to offer translation services to companies which might be in need; while some others, such as myself, are asked to do translation jobs for Google Project. During the internship, I encountered few problems such in regards to scheduling and ultimately, noticeable problems pertaining to freelance working. Using principles from project management literature and labour precarity, I aim to offer description as well solutions to te problems which may be considered by every party involved during this internship; from students, the university, and the
company. Keywords: Translation, Project Management, Scheduling, Freelance Worker
