Abstract
The writer’s background that makes him do this non-thesis project is his desire to choose hisown path in life and not following what his parents has told him to do, because it will notmake someone happy if people always do what their parents told them to do. So, the writerdecides to create a non-thesis final project in a form of short story to convey his thoughtabout freedom to the reader. The writer makes the story about freedom and presented it in aMiddle Ages era where the main character wishes to freely explore the world and see manynew things on his own, because he does not wish to be a king and live inside the castle forlife, he wishes to have his own freedom to choose what he wants to do in his life.Keywords: short story, creative writing, literature, middle aged era
