Abstract

Learning foreign languages by children at a young age has gained significant attention and importance in recent years. In recent years, in Indonesia, parents have begun to put their children into institutional tutoring with the aim that their children are able to recognize and master foreign languages. What is meant by foreign languages in this study are English, Chinese, and Arabic. Parents begin to introduce their children to learning foreign languages early on. ducational institutions ranging from kindergartens, elementary schools, and high schools to higher institutions teach their students international languages. In this study, the author made an effort to investigate parents’ attitudes toward their kids learning foreign languages at a young age, as well as the benefits and ideal age for doing so. The research objective of this study is to identify: What are the parents’ opinions about children learning foreign languages at a young age? Since only descriptive data was collected for this research, the author chose to employ a qualitative method to thoroughly examine participant viewpoints, opinions, and experiences. In order to have a general understanding of parents’ attitudes toward
young children studying foreign languages, researchers obtained data through questionnaires and interviews. These findings are presented descriptively, providing detailed information about participants’ opinions regarding foreign languages learning by their children at a young age, the reasons and preferences regarding early language learning, and the right time and age of foreign languages learning according to the parents. Under the findi
study, the majority of parents believe that children should start learning foreign languages at a young age. A small percentage of parents do, however, have differing views on the matter. These differing viewpoints are affected by a variety of elements, such as the parents’ particular
circumstances, background in culture, and personal views. The objectives that parents have for their children influence how they view the importance of early language acquisition. Parents’ perspectives on learning a foreign language are varied and diverse. Each parent has their own
set of values, beliefs, and considerations that shape their stance on this topic. Keywords: Foreign Languages, English, Mandarin, Arabic, Learning, Young Age Children,
