Abstract

Boon Pring is an ecotourism site located at Sanankerto, Turen, Malang Regency. Boon Pring is famous for its bamboo forest with hundreds of bamboo and its water springs located in the bamboo forest. Due to its potentials, Boon Pring wants to level up the ecotourism to international scale. To become an international ecotourism, the use of English is essential. However, Boon Pring lacks human resources that can communicate in English properly. According to the interview with some representatives in Boon Pring, they reveal their nervousness when it comes to English. I realize Boon Pring needs help to improve the tour guides’
English skills. Therefore, I decided to create an English Module for Boon Pring Guide. The module is expected to help Boon Pring’s tour guides communicate with foreign tourists. The content in the module is based on needs aalysis that I did through interviews with some administrators and field observations through her internship. The topics are: (1) Introduction (2) Greeting and welcoming tourists (3) Telling history of Boon Pring (4) Guiding in tourist spots (Bamboo forest, Water springs, and Arboretum) (5) Thanking and arewell to tourists. The topics are taken based on the results of the target needs. The module will be in soft-file or PDF . Keywords: module, English learning, ecotourism, tour guide
