Abstract
All activities produce metabolic waste that negatively affects the body. Apart from metabolic waste, unhealthy environmental conditions such as air pollution due to motor
vehicle fumes, factory smoke, cigarette smoke. Various studies have supported that consuming antioxidants can reduce the occurrence of various diseases related to free radicals. So that in order not to damage the body, free radicals need to be prevented by utilizing herbal
plants that are rich in antioxidants. The aim of this study was to determine the antioxidant activity of the effervescent granule formula with the combination of extract (Clitoria Ternatea L.) and extract (caesalpinia sappan L.) and to determine the optimization of the effervescent granule formula. This research applies experimental methods with quantitative analysis using Anova One Way. The research took place at the Ma Chung University Pharmacy Laboratory during June - July 2020. The materials used were thick extracts of telang flower and secang wood, distilled water, sodium bicarbonate, citric acid, PVP, saccharin lactose, DPPH, 0.05 M NaOH, and ethanol. PA. Granule evaluation includes organoleptic test, flow rate, angle of rest, solubility time, pH, moisture content, carr's index, hausneratio and particle size distribution. The ANOVA test results of all parameters showed a significant difference between treatments, namely parameters of flow rate, particle size, carr's index and hausneratio so that it could be continued with LSD (Least Significant Difference). The antioxidant activity test showed that the five formulas had IC50 tilapia which was classified as very weak, because
the five formulas entered the range (IC50> 200 ppm). Of the five most optimal formulas based on characteristic tests, which are found in formula 1 and formula 3. This can be seen
from the results of the organoleptic test which shows the color of the black and white granules, the distinctive smell of the extract, the round granule shape, and based on the
parameter of rest angle, carr's index , and the hausneratio formula 1 shows the fastest or the best flow properties, while formula 3 can be seen based on the acidic pH parameters and the best flow rate.Kata kunci: Antioxidant Activity, Effervescent granule, Caesalpinia sappan, Clitoria
