Abstract

Chronic kidney disease (CKD) is defined as an abnormality in the structure or function of the kidney. CKD can be seen from structural abnormalities including albuminuria. Determination of albumin is done by using AgNO3 reagent and
methylene blue aimed at detecting early chronic kidney disease (CKD) with analytical methods that are expected to provide accurate, fast results. and lower costs, therefore sensors need to be developed to detect the presence of albumin in human urine. The reagent used silver nitrate-methylene blue. The sensor is used as a colorimetric paper sensor. Albumin can be detected by changing the color from blue to brownish for the silver nitrate-methylene blue sensor. The color that is formed is quantified by the ImageJ program. The results showed that the silver itrate�methylene blue albumin-based sensor had a response time of 7 minutes with a linear range of 200 to 500 ppm and the detection limit was 83.039 ppm the qualification limit. The sensor has reproducibility (RSD =2.69177%) with a usage time of more
than 3 months. Accuracy value is 100,662%. The sensor is applied to determine albumin in the sample, and the results show a statistical difference between the measurement results of the sensor and the UV-VIS spectrophotometer method.Keywords:Colorimetric sensor,chronic kidney disease, silver nitrate, methylene blue, albumin
