Abstract
Research on the manufacture of chemical sensors that are simple, inexpensive and reliable. The aim of this research is to develop sensor technology to detect kidney failure. In this study, a chemical sensor was made using 5%
cobalt reagent and 20% ammonia. In paper based sensor application for detecting albumin in urine. The qualitative research was confirmed quantitatively using the UV-Vis spectrophotometric method. In developing this paper-based sensor, it uses a design that is able to change the color of the test strip against the target compound to be measured.
Manufacturing chemical sensors using immobilization techniques. The immobilization technique is a process of binding the cobalt reagent molecules to the support material, namely ammonia, so that the reagent molecules can be distributed in the support phase evenly and homogeneously. The initial stage in the manufacture of chemical sensors is to determine the optimum reagent
conditions. The sensor was optimized by optimizing pH, reagent concentration, test concentration and response time. The sensor has an optimization result with an
optimum pH of pH 7. The test strip has a response time of 4 minutes. The sensor selectivity test was carried out with the addition of urea, NaCl and glucose giving
interference to the sensor at a concentration ratio of 1: 1; 1:10 and 1: 100. The interference result is less than 5%.
In this study, the detection limit value was 121.90 ppm and the quantitation limit was 406.32 ppm. The percent recovery for the concentrations of 80%, 100% and 120% are respectively 82.89%; 100.37%; 118.03%.Accuracy (precision) for a concentration of 350 ppm, which was carried out interday was 2.56%; 2.42%; 2.56% and intraday is2.42%. Has good linearity in the concentration range 150-650 ppm with a correlation coefficient value of r = 0.9677. The lifetime of the test strip is more than 3 months at room temperature. The results of this research method validation meet the standard requirements. Keywords: ammonia, chemical sensors, cobalt (Co), immobilization technique
