Abstract

The Indonesian manufacturing industry always tries and strives to produce quality products for customers while still prioritizing the efficiency factor. In the
world of manufacturing there are various processes that are passed to make a product. Each of these processes requires no small amount of money so that the system running in it operates properly. Each production process is interconnected
and has a sequence from beginning to end.PT. SASL and Sons Indonesia is a manufacturing company engaged in the
coconut processing industry. PT. SASL and Sons Indonesia has various stages of coconut production. Each process is separated into several rooms according to production needs. Through field observations, the layout of the production room owned by PT. SASL and Sons Indonesia is considered inefficient with the distance and area between rooms that are not in accordance with production needs
and material transfer flows. By research using the Computerized Relationship Layout Method (CORELAP), researchers can redesign the layout of each production room along with the flow of material transfer. In designing a new
layout, several factors to consider are the order of the production process, the distance of material transfer, the dimensions of the machine and the material transfer tool. The company's initial layout had a displacement of 406.75 meters. Then a new layout is designed and produces a displacement distance of 53,963 meters. With these results, the distance required for the movement of goods to the
end of the production process can be reduced by 86.7%
