Abstract
This study aims to prove the effect of capital adequacy, liquidity, inflation and interest rates on credit risk in banks listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX)
from 2017 to 2019. This research was conducted using secondary data in the form of annual banking financial reports (annual report) and obtained a sample of 40
companies. This researh using Multiple Linear Regression Analysis. The results showed that capital adequacy had a negative effect on credit risk. An increase in
the capital adequacy ratio will reduce credit risk to banks. This study also shows that the hypothesis on liquidity is rejected because liquidity has a negative effect
on credit risk. This is likely due to the favorable attitude of customers who make loans, thus increasing liquidity reduces credit risk. Meanwhile, external factors,
namely inflation and interest rates, have no effect on credit risk. There are several banks that do not think there is inflation and that the increase in interest rates will
immediately be followed up by the government.
