Abstract
The background of this non-thesis project in the form of creative writing is the concern of the writer regarding toxic masculinity. Considering the negative side of toxic masculinity that could be hurtful to its victims. Toxic masculinity is a cultural concept of manliness that glorifies stoicism, straightness, virility and dominance which is socially harmful to mental health. In creating the short story, the writer found the theories of toxic asculinity, and also based on the related literature that the writer has gathered, the writer learned that the awareness of toxic masculinity should be raised in
a light-hearted way. As result, a short story about how someone can be successful by being himself despite having to experience toxic masculinity was produced.Key words: romance, short story, toxic masculinity, creative writing, literature
