Abstract

This project aims to inform and entertain reader regarding a mental illness called dissociative identity disorder (DID) in the form of creative writing. Dissociative identity disorder is a condition where two or more personalities exist in one individual. This condition usually emerges when an individual having a traumatic experience in which the brain create another personality in order to cope with the traumatic event. The writer aims to give an example of an individual that suffer from this rare mental illness in the form of story. Prior to writing the story, the writer did several researches regarding the elements he wanted to include in the story such as the theme, setting, and medical development during a particular time. The story is about a doctor that suffer from this mental illness without realizing it. The reason why the writer used it as a
theme in a story is to entertain and inform the reader about it. By doing so the reader will have new information while being entertained when reading it.Keywords: Inform, Dissociative Identity Disorder, Short Story
