Abstract
The Danish Girl is a 2015 movie that informs about the life of Danish couple painter, Gerda Wegener and Einar Wegener. It informs that people behaviour can change over time and caused by various factors. One of those factors comes from
the social environment, especially social pressure. This study aims to seek the impact of social pressure that can influence someone’s way of thinking and affects people nearby. This research employs the descriptive qualitative method and feminist sociology approaches as the main methods to solve the problem. The writer discovers that Gerda has faced two kinds of social pressures. Those are positive and
negative social pressures. The positive social pressure was shown in the rejection of her art and the dilemma of her decision. Meanwhile, the negative pressure was
shown in the presence of Professor Warnerkros. These social pressures have given an opposite impact both for her husband as Einar and Lili. Einar decided to have a
genital surgery and no longer become her husband. However, Gerda has given Lilia second chance to have her dream heard and fulfilled.Keywords : Feminist sociology, social pressure, gender relations
