Abstract
This research examines the differences between the characters in Spider-Man (2002) and Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse (2018), with the aim of comparing the two main characters from the same franchise. The author has prepared questions that will answer the results of the findings: (1) How do Peter Parker's and Miles Morales' origin stories as Spider-Man differ? (2) In what ways do they grow and evolve as characters throughout their stories? (3) What different powers & abilities do the two characters have throughout the movies? Using qualitative contrastive analysis, this study reveals that Peter and Miles have different origins, character development, and powers and abilities. The findings highlight Spider-Man as an evolving symbol, which can adapt to generational and cultural shifts. This research contributes to a broader discussion on diversity in superhero narratives and the fluidity of heroic models in contemporary media.
